As children are curious and eager to learn teaching them should be very easy. But it is not easy. You face a variety of problems in teaching children. Some of them are fast learners while some are slower than the average. 

Main problem encountered in teaching children is lack of concentration. It doesn’t mean that they do not take interest in what is being taught. They do and they are very keen too. But the point of their concentration wavers. Its span is very short. This is why they forget what they learnt yesterday. This problem is common in young children but goes away with their growth. Regular teaching can accelerate the process child development.

Everything is to be repeated many times over to make young children memorize it. Be it numbers or alphabet or tables, students are asked to repeat what they learned the day before. Make it a regular practice to ensure children learning process effective. 

Young children are generally taught very elementary things. It is natural as you can not

teach words until the students have full grasp over alphabet. You can not teach basic mathematics until they have learnt numbers and tables.

Of late, use of calculators has grown enormously. But a person must know the tables up to nine, or say ten, for day-to-day work. It would possible be only if the child is made to learn them in pre-school or primary classes.
